Book Review: Thief of Lies by Brenda Drake

( I received this ebook by the publisher through netgalley in exchange for an honest review) Goodreads Summary:  Gia Kearns would rather fight with boys than kiss them. That is, until Arik, a leather clad hottie in the Boston Athenaeum, suddenly disappears. While examining the book of world libraries he abandoned, Gia unwittingly speaks the key that sucks her and her friends into a photograph and transports them into a Paris library, where Arik and his Sentinels—magical knights charged with protecting humans from the creatures traveling across the gateway books—rescue them from a demonic hound. Jumping into some of the world's most beautiful libraries would be a dream come true for Gia, if she weren’t busy resisting her heart or dodging an exiled wizard seeking revenge on both the Mystik and human worlds. Add a French flirt obsessed with Arik and a fling with a young wizard, and Gia must choose between her heart and her head, between Arik's world and her own, before both...

Book Review: Infinity(bk1) by Jus Accardo

(I received this ARC copy by the publisher via Netgalley). Goodreads Summary:  There are three things Kori knows for sure about her life: One: Her army general dad is  insanely  overprotective. Two: The guy he sent to watch her, Cade, is  way  too good-looking. Three: Everything she knew was a lie. Now there are three things Kori never knew about her life: One: There’s a device that allows her to jump dimensions. Two: Cade’s got a lethal secret. Three: Someone wants her dead. I read Infinity in one sitting! It was fast paced from the beginning and I loved it. Infinity is about a teenager named Kori that has a knack for getting in trouble. Her father is in the military and has a high ranking not to mention he is very much over protective of Kori.  Kori rebelliousness causes her father to put things into his hands and have two "supervisors" watch over her while he is gone away. In the mist of the two strangers and other dangers Kori's life gets c...

Book Review: And the Trees Crept in By Dawn Kurtagich

Goodreads Summary:  When Silla and Nori arrive at their aunt's home, it's immediately clear that the "blood manor" is cursed. The creaking of the house and the stillness of the woods surrounding them would be enough of a sign, but there are secrets too--the questions that Silla can't ignore: Who is the beautiful boy that's appeared from the woods? Who is the man that her little sister sees, but no one else? And why does it seem that, ever since they arrived, the trees have been creeping closer? Filled with just as many twists and turns as  The Dead House , and with achingly beautiful, chilling language that delivers haunting scenes, AND THE TREES CREPT IN is the perfect follow-up novel for master horror writer Dawn Kurtagich. I don't know what it was about this book that kept me reading it even though I was confused most of the time. The writing was good but for the majority of the story I was confused and had so many questions the fur...

Series I need to finish or start

So, I have it bad with catching on to series that are so popular or hyped up. I see how good the reviews are and how everyone raves about them but I don't pick them up to read until much later on or I read so many reviews about them that I feel I don't need to read them. Also, I have it bad with starting a series and not finishing it. Especially if I read book 1 and book 2 comes out a year or so later. I have other books that I want to read and just put the books that are apart of the series further down the line. By the time I want to get to book two, I don't remember the story and I have to go back and reread book one. I hope to break that little cycle one day. But here are some series that I need to read or need to finish. Under the Never Sky Series I see this as a favorite on a lot of bloggers list. I haven't read it. Its not that I don't want to I just never picked it up. I hope to change that before the year is out. The Selection Series I started t...

Book Review: A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Mass

Goodreads Summary:  When nineteen-year-old huntress Feyre kills a wolf in the woods, a beast-like creature arrives to demand retribution for it. Dragged to a treacherous magical land she only knows about from legends, Feyre discovers that her captor is not an animal, but Tamlin—one of the lethal, immortal faeries who once ruled their world. As she dwells on his estate, her feelings for Tamlin transform from icy hostility into a fiery passion that burns through every lie and warning she's been told about the beautiful, dangerous world of the Fae. But an ancient, wicked shadow grows over the faerie lands, and Feyre must find a way to stop it... or doom Tamlin—and his world—forever. I could not put this book down whatsoever!! Wait, I lied I did have to put it down because this thing called Life would not let me have all the feels of this book like I wanted to.  I haven't read a good fantasy book in a good minute and this was a good one to remind myself w...
