September Wrap up and October TBR

This month has flown by! In fact...where has the year gone?! I was able to read 3 books this month while participating in the Tackle Your TBR read-a-thon that was hosted by Wishful Endings. Here are the books that I read and review This took me forever to finish. It wasn't because of not enjoy it but because I was so busy with work and other personal things. It was a great read and I can't wait till the next one comes out My Review This is a physiological thriller. I like it but I was confused for most of the part especially when it got right in the climax of the story. But the writing was so good I kept on reading it. It was weird and dark. I was not expecting the ending at all. It really saved the book. My Review I read book 1 and 2 of the Percy Jackson series but I didn't finish the series. I really liked Mangus Chase. It had humor, adventure, Norse Mythology. I haven't read to many books that is centered around Norse Mythology

Book Review: The Sword of Summer by Rick Riordan (Mangus Chase bk1)

Goodreads Summary:  Magnus Chase has always been a troubled kid. Since his mother’s mysterious death, he’s lived alone on the streets of Boston, surviving by his wits, keeping one step ahead of the police and the truant officers. One day, he’s tracked down by a man he’s never met—a man his mother claimed was dangerous. The man tells him an impossible secret: Magnus is the son of a Norse god. The Viking myths are true. The gods of Asgard are preparing for war. Trolls, giants and worse monsters are stirring for doomsday. To prevent Ragnarok, Magnus must search the Nine Worlds for a weapon that has been lost for thousands of years. When an attack by fire giants forces him to choose between his own safety and the lives of hundreds of innocents, Magnus makes a fatal decision. Sometimes, the only way to start a new life is to die . . . This is my third book that I have read by Rick Riordan. I only read book 1 and 2 of the Percy Jackson series and it was so long ago that I would need

Stranger Things Book Tag!

This is a really neat book tag that was created by booktuber Sarah Sunbeemz . Her channel is great and worth checking out. If you haven't watched Stranger Things....stop right now and go watch it. Seriously. 1.) Epic Intro:  The opening sequence of Stranger Things is amazing and really grabs your attention. Name a book that grabbed your attention from the first page. A:Recently I would say This Savage Song by Victoria Schwab. The opening sentence opened with Kate setting the school chapter on fire. It was a great first sentence to open up the story.  2.)  2. DUNGEONS & DRAGONS. Name a fantasy world you would like to experience yourself. A:I would have to say Velaris from A Court of Mist and Fury. It soooo beautiful they way it is described. I would love to see that world. 3.)   SQUAD GOALS. When Eleven met Mike, Dustin and Lucas it was a *mostly* perfect team. Name your favourite bookish group of friends. A: I think it is pretty obvious: Harry, Ron, and Hermio

Book Review: And the Trees Crept in By Dawn Kurtagich

Goodreads Summary:  When Silla and Nori arrive at their aunt's home, it's immediately clear that the "blood manor" is cursed. The creaking of the house and the stillness of the woods surrounding them would be enough of a sign, but there are secrets too--the questions that Silla can't ignore: Who is the beautiful boy that's appeared from the woods? Who is the man that her little sister sees, but no one else? And why does it seem that, ever since they arrived, the trees have been creeping closer? Filled with just as many twists and turns as  The Dead House , and with achingly beautiful, chilling language that delivers haunting scenes, AND THE TREES CREPT IN is the perfect follow-up novel for master horror writer Dawn Kurtagich. I don't know what it was about this book that kept me reading it even though I was confused most of the time. The writing was good but for the majority of the story I was confused and had so many questions the fur

Book Review: This Savage Song by Victoria Schwab

Goodreads Summary: There’s no such thing as safe in a city at war, a city overrun with monsters. In this dark urban fantasy from author Victoria Schwab ,  a young woman and a young man must choose whether to become heroes or villains—and friends or enemies—with the future of their home at stake. The first of two books. Kate Harker and August Flynn are the heirs to a divided city—a city where the violence has begun to breed actual monsters. All Kate wants is to be as ruthless as her father, who lets the monsters roam free and makes the humans pay for his protection. All August wants is to be human, as good-hearted as his own father, to play a bigger role in protecting the innocent—but he’s one of the monsters. One who can steal a soul with a simple strain of music. When the chance arises to keep an eye on Kate, who’s just been kicked out of her sixth boarding school and returned home, August jumps at it. But Kate discovers August’s secret, and after a failed assassination attempt the

September TBR

This month I have decided to go with a theme outside of my reading challenge for this month. I have not had the experience of diving into children's fiction and I know there are some really great stories out there in children fiction. I have read the Spiderwick Chronicles and the review for that will be posted in a few days. These are pretty short so I think I can get them in. For this month I am going to work on Children series Beyonders Chronicles) by Brandon Mull -A World Without Heroes (bk1)                                                                   -Seed of Rebellion (bk2)                                                                   - Chasing the Prophecy (bk3) The Theodosa Throckmorton series by R.L.
