I haven't read to much of mermaid books and they haven't really brought much interest to me but I really enjoyed reading this one. At first it did start out slow then it picked up towards the middle.

Florence is quite and is to herself. She feels that there is no place where she can be herself or where she can fit in. Her mother does not make it any better. While on a field trip she is kidnapped by a mermaid and is introduced to their world. I really like Florence character and how she changed from the girl that we knew in the beginning to growing into her own towards the end.

This book is field with adventures, a love triangle, and other mysteries that take place. The plot was written well and it was a really nice read.

So I have been in a fantasy mood lately. I think it may have to do with Summer Reading at the library because our theme is dealing with fantasy and science fiction. With that being said, I used my library and gathered a bit much of some fantasy books. I am going into them blind which I prefer because I want the whole concept of the book to (hopefully) blow me away.
